In 2021 Boardroom Salon for Men hired GoDo to strategically rebrand and reposition their seminal men’s grooming concept. Our recommended name and visual rebrand launched as Boardroom Styling Lounge in 2022 here.
Working in parallel with the branding recommendation, addressing company’s internal culture was imperative to better align with their newly minted Brand Truth (archetype and tone).
Discovery
Through our proprietary GoDo Culture Session and stakeholder interviews, our biggest discovery was uncovering how their current culture (elements as specific as dress codes) was fighting against and in direct contrast with their Brand Truth. And consequently creating friction within the organization.
Activation
A Brand Truth is something you live, from the C-Suite to the shop floor. Whether your audience is internal (staff/co-workers/stakeholders) or external (customers) the way you do business should be consistent.
Our first step to align the culture from the top down, was to extract the top six things everyone in the Boardroom organization should know. While different for every company, the six essential questions are the same; What business are we in? How do we do business? Why are we here? What does our success rely on? What can’t we tolerate?
We used these six essentials to create easy-to-digest materials for employees to understand and live their Brand Truth – including a culture guide as well as a culture catalog with strategy to keep culture a priority all year long.
We provided steps and curriculum/questions for Boardroom to take a look at what they were currently doing across the company and prompts to ask the companies various stakeholders a series of questions that could become culture actions and behaviors.
