Expedition 136: International House Hotel

Challenge

Like many of our clients, International House Hotel in New Orleans was a trendsetter in its space, but has seen imitators closing in on their position as an industry leader.

One of GoDo’s specialties is providing strategic and creative counsel to companies that find themselves in this stage of their brand journey. We uncover their Brand Truth and then guide them on how to reclaim their position and status.

In advance of IHH’s 25th Anniversary, we entered into a year-long consultation with IHH to modernize their visual identity, provide consistent ideation, creative and strategic counsel.

Discovery

First and foremost, spending time immersed in the IHH space and its sister properties in New Orleans was imperative. An intimate understanding of IHH’s place in the city’s past and current history was necessary. Equally important was the time we invested in visiting and “secret shopping” IHH’s closest competitors.

What we uncovered was that the greatest thing IHH can offer is authenticity. An authenticity born from the lens of the Rebel and Lover archetypes. Created by, and operated by a passionate New Orleans native, IHH has roots in a city and culture that run deeper than the surface-level experience others in the space are offering.

Activation

Over the course of a year-long consultation, we provided assets to update and streamline the IHH brand identity and website, jumpstart and build a renewed social media presence, create a branded CRM email program, make photography connections and concept video platforms for exciting storytelling.


Impact

During our year-long consultation, International House Hotel had it’s best year since 2019, recovering from the devastation of 2020, and setting up the brand for an incredible 25th Anniversary.
